ST. JOHN’S SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY: Media images and recordings bring life to and help tell the story of St. John’s faith community, enhance the quality of the information we provide to our members and give visitors an idea of what to expect when they attend our church. We would like to share media items recorded at our various ministry activities, events and programs in church-produced materials, including, but not limited to, bulletins, posters, brochures, newsletters and other printed materials, on the church website and it’s social media accounts.
Accordingly, participation in church activities implies permission for publication of any media recorded. This applies to anyone who attends our church. Only the Pastor, Church Council President, Social Media Coordinator, Christian Education Director and the Church’s Secretary are permitted to post media to the church’s social media accounts. Parents/guardians who do not wish for their or their child’s photo or video to be potentially posted online or otherwise displayed, regardless of the context, should send a written note or email to the church office and St. John’s will make every effort to exclude the indicated minor from any individual or small group photography. Please note that children may still be included in general group or crowd photos without identifying information; however, you may always request that any photo be removed from display.
SOCIAL MEDIA OPT-OUT PROCEDURE: If St. John’s receives a written note or email from a parent/guardian requesting media opt-out, it will be the responsibility of the Pastor, Church Council President, Social Media Coordinator, Christian Education Director and the Church’s Secretary to ensure no photos of that person(s) are posted to any social media account administered by St. John’s.
